La nostra storia

It started in Rome

Roma · 10 – 12 aprile

Meet us in Rome

Il Dolce Far Niente

“The sweetness of doing nothing”

It is the Italian art of savouring life’s quiet luxuries: strolling ancient cobblestone streets where history lingers in the air, eating gelato in the warm Roman sun, wandering into boutiques, and people-watching over an aperitivo in the Eternal City.

Join us in Rome from the 10th to the 12th of April, as we spend a few unhurried days with family and friends, embracing la dolce vita. This gathering is separate from the wedding itself, and all are welcome to join.

Let us know in your RSVP whether you will be there, so we can book a table or two.

Il programma

Two days in Tuscany

After Rome, two days in Florence. Times marked “to confirm” will be final well before you travel.

Tuesday · Martedì 13 April · Welcome dinner, Obicà, Florence

Welcome dinner

At Obicà, in the centre of Florence (Via de’ Tornabuoni 16). Dress code Italian chic. A relaxed evening of mozzarella, wine and hellos before the big day.

Digestivo to confirm

[Optional: a bar nearby for those who want to carry on.]

Wednesday · Mercoledì 14 April · The wedding, Villa Le Fontanelle

Arrival to confirm

Shuttles leave from the centre of Florence. Please be seated in the gardens by a quarter to four.

Ceremony

In the gardens, with Florence below us. Weather permitting; the main hall of the villa if it rains.

Aperitivo to confirm

On the Citrarium terrace, while we disappear for a few photographs.

Dinner to confirm

A long table, Tuscan cooking, and a few words from people who know us too well.

Dancing to confirm

Until late. Shuttles back to Florence at [00:00] and [01:30].

Dress code

Black tie for the wedding on the 14th: dinner jackets, long or cocktail dresses. Italian chic for the welcome dinner on the 13th: smart but relaxed, the way Florentines dress for an evening out. The villa gardens are gravel, so a block heel is kinder than a stiletto.

The weather

Mid April in Florence is usually mild, around 18°C in the afternoon and cooler once the sun goes. Bring a jacket or wrap for the evening.

La villa · Careggi, Firenze

Villa Le Fontanelle

A Medici-era residence in the Careggi hills, a few minutes north of the centre of Florence, with gardens, a terrace that looks over the city, and a tower you can see from the road.

The ceremony is in the gardens, the aperitivo on the terrace of the Citrarium, the villa's restaurant named for the old lemon house that once stood there, and dinner and dancing follow inside and out. One place for the whole day, so once you arrive you do not move again until the shuttle home.

RSVP · please answer by 1 February 2027

Will you join us?

One reply per household is enough. Add everyone who is coming with you, one block per person, and answer for each of them.

Will you use the shuttle from Florence on 14 April?

Domande

Good to know

Who do I include in the RSVP?

Everyone who is coming with you: your partner, your children, anyone in your party. Add one block per person and answer for each, so the kitchen and the seating plan come out right. One reply per household is plenty.

Are children welcome?

[Your answer. If children are invited, they will appear by name on the envelope and in the RSVP.]

What should I wear?

Black tie for the wedding on the 14th. Italian chic for the welcome dinner on the 13th. Rome is yours to dress for. Either Florence day, bring shoes that can handle gravel paths and, on the Wednesday, a dance floor.

Gifts

[Your answer. e.g. Your presence in Florence is the gift. If you would like to give something, there is a honeymoon fund here: link.]

I have a dietary requirement

Tell us in the RSVP, per person. The kitchen at the villa handles vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergies with no fuss, as long as they know in advance.

Is there parking at the villa?

Very little, and the road up is narrow. Take the shuttle from Florence or a taxi. If you do drive, let us know in your RSVP message and we will see what we can arrange.

I scanned the envelope and ended up here. Now what?

That is exactly right. Everything about the weekend is on this page, and the RSVP is just above. Keep the envelope; it is nicer than a browser bookmark.

How do I reach you?

Email us at hello@example.com. We check it daily until the wedding, and not at all during the honeymoon.
